From question to perspective.
You ask in your own words. The service reads the market's sources, checks every figure, and returns a report with analysis, opportunities, risks and advice, in under a minute.
Five steps
Ask
Describe the vessel size, basin, period and your position, as you would to a colleague. No forms and no follow-up questions: anything left out gets a sensible default, listed in the report.
Read the sources
Broker weeklies, Baltic indices, listed owners, bunker price services, canal authorities and official statistics are read every day and kept for every report that day.
Check every figure
Each number must appear word for word on a page that was opened, be current, and be confirmed by its source's standing or by a second source.
Analyse and advise
Market direction, buy and sell signals and chartering rules are decided in code from the checked figures; the writing explains them.
Read, share and rate
The report opens at once and fills in by itself. Share it as a link, and tell us how useful it was.
What a report contains
Every report has the same nine parts in the same order, so you always know where to look.
- 01Executive summary. Your request and a direct answer to it, then up to ten key points.
- 02Market analysis. One card per development: what happened, why it matters, the commercial impact, Bullish / Bearish / Neutral, and the horizon.
- 03Market snapshot. Headline figures, charts, key figures and route rates.
- 04Opportunities. Cargo flows, vessel positioning and freight market openings.
- 05Risks. Freight, commodity, operational and geopolitical risks, with what would trigger them.
- 06Recommended actions. Chartering and operational advice with horizon and confidence.
- 07Bunkers and canals. Prices at Singapore, Fujairah, Rotterdam and Houston; Panama and Suez status with a waiting outlook.
- 08Sale and purchase. Values by age, earnings against values, reported sales and buy, sell or recycle signals.
- 09Method. How your request was read, the assumptions made and the conventions used.
What it covers
- Dry bulk: Handysize, Supramax/Ultramax, Panamax/Kamsarmax, Capesize
- Tankers: VLCC, Suezmax, Aframax, LR2, LR1, MR, Handy product
- Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Ocean; one size per report (Handysize and Supramax together when no size is named)
- Spot and period rates, indices, cargo flows, commodities, bunkers, canals, regulation, sale and purchase
- Gas carriers, containers, car carriers and ro-ro
- Long price histories: reports use current data unless you ask for an older period
How figures are checked
Only free, public sources are read, and nothing is reconstructed from paywalled pages. A figure is used only when its quote is found on the page that was opened and it is current: up to 7 days for rates, indices and bunker prices, 14 days for everything else.
Decided in code, explained in words
Whether a market is firmer, softer or steady, whether a development is bullish or bearish, and which chartering, operational and sale-and-purchase signals apply are calculated from the checked figures. The writing must follow those decisions, and every number in the text is matched against the figures; a sentence with a number that cannot be matched is removed.
Previous reports
A finished report is kept exactly as it was made. When a similar request is made on the same day's data, the work already done is reused, so the report comes faster and only the answer to your own question is written fresh.
Your feedback
At the end of every report you can rate how useful it was, mark the parts that helped most and tell us what should be better. Ratings and comments stay internal to SHIPFY and are used to improve future reports. Recommendations are decision support for the chartering and S&P teams, not legal, charter-party or investment advice.
